Azure Active Directory is a Microsoft Azure service which provides an easy way for businesses to manage identity and access, for both in-cloud and on-premise purposes. Integrating WhosOffice with Azure AD enables your organisation to incorporate the security from Azure AD into the authentication process flow on WhosOffice.

How this integration helps you?

By using Azure AD to sign in to WhosOffice, your users will have one less username and password to remember, which means less support for your business in assisting users with account lock-outs and password resets. Your organisation may also have strict IT policies that need to be followed, such as:

  • Multi-factor authentication, which is built into Azure AD natively and can be enabled.
  • Offboarding: as part of your company policy, when staff members leave, their access to WhosOffice can be revoked from with the Azure AD account
  • Access requirements: In addition to standard login, or multi-factor authentication, administrators can require specific conditions to be met before users can sign in to your WhosOffice account, such as IP address restrictions, be members of specified groups, as well as device requirements.
  • Industry standards: Microsoft identity platform supports the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol which is used between the two services.

How does this integration work?

Put simply: you tell Microsoft that you want to integrate with WhosOffice, they give you a certificate which you then provide to WhosOffice. You then tell Microsoft who you want to provide access to and that's it. When the user visits your dedicated login page on WhosOffice, you can either let them choose to login with their Azure AD account details, or force them to authenticate through Azure AD.
